This photo from the archives shows the grand frontage of The Robinson Kay Home at Walmersley, Bury in 1961.
It opened in 1886 as one of several ‘hospitals for incurables’ around Greater Manchester. It catered for female patients.
With the advent of the NHS after the Second World War the Robinson Kay Home became a geriatric hospital before it closed in 1990. It is now a private hospital helping patients with brain injuries
