A NEW creative studio has been launched in Bury town centre to provide a create space for customers to create social media content.

The TikTokTurf creative studio will be based at Mill Gate Shopping Centre and is the second such venue, with the first having been launched earlier this year.

The new studio will include a selection of themed backdrops including a number of Halloween characters and scenes, painted by 'Bury Banksy', a street artist whose designs have become a regular feature around the borough and by illustrator and artist Amy Coney.

Centre manager Kirsty Williams said: “We’re really happy with our second TikTokTurf studio. It’s been great to welcome Amy back, as well as the town’s Bury Banksy, who has done a fantastic job on the Halloween art. We hope this offline experience can be enjoyed by lots of TikTokers.”

TikTok has become well known as the social medium of choice for people looking to create viral videos, be they dance videos, practical jokes or even comedy sketches.

The platform currently has more than 800 million users worldwide and managers at Mill Gate hopes studios like theirs will encourage more people in Bury to test their video production skills.

Ms Coney is already well known as the designer of the now iconic Bee in the City sculpture and as the commissioner behind the artwork featured in the first TikTokTurf studio.

She has now returned to create an exploding firework scene and autumnal backdrop for the new studio, featuring a forest of reds and oranges.

The studio will also feature a giant deck chair and a professional green screen, which managers at Mill Gate say is everything that customers need to produce viral content such as photos and videos.

TikTokTurf will be open every day until November 9 and is located next to H.Samuels, on The Mall.
