Police are appealing for information to help recover stolen a car in a burglary which has caused 'devastation' to a family.

A white Mercedes-Benz C-Class was stolen following a burglary at around 6am on Oakleigh Avenue, Great Lever, this morning (October 20). The keys to a Toyota car were also taken during this.

Police say the car has "extreme sentimental value" to its owners.

Chief Inspector Martin Ashurst said: "Having dealt with this burglary I cannot emphasise enough just how valuable this vehicle is to the family, and the devastation this terrible crime has caused them.

"I want to appeal to the offenders to return the vehicle or leave it somewhere where the victim can recover it."
