BRITPOP band Space were in Bury over the weekend to stage a special question and answer session with their fans.

The band, known for hits including Female of the Species, Neighbourhood and Me and You versus the World, was at Bury record and coffee shop Wax and Beans on The Haymarket to celebrate 25 years of the release of the Spiders album which has now been released on the vinyl for the first time.

People of all ages came to see the band and their copy of the album signed.

Among them were younger fans whose parents would often play the band's hits and it was their chance to meet the band and relive "so many memories".

Others came to get their guitars signed.

The band were at the shop before going into the city to play a gig.

They described being in Bury as "being back in the heyday" with the amount of people that turned up to see the band.

Space have been invited back to the record shop next year to celebrate 25 years of their second album Tin Planet, which will also be released on vinyl.

And the band have reportedly expressed an interest in playing at The Met, especially after hearing its musical heritage, including when Joy Division played there.
