BURY-based reality TV star, fashionista and singer, Jsky, has landed a spot as a finalist in a highly contested online competition.

Hits Radio Pride judges have announced eight finalists in their search for the next big voice in radio, which will give the winner the chance to present their own show on the Bauer Media LGBT station.

Jsky has already been a host on the station Gaydio and a BBC Radio Manchester entertainment correspondent.

As fashion editor for La Vida Magazine, he has also interviewed everyone from Mark Ronson to Grace Jones.

He said: “This is so exciting. I mean, to have even made it this far out of all the entries is such a big deal, especially so early into my radio career.

“Becoming Hits Radio Pride’s Future Star is a once in a lifetime opportunity - I literally have a one in eight chance of making my dreams come true.

“To win would be a huge personal win, because in lockdown radio has been the best way for me to keep in touch with people and put my thoughts out there.

“So many people have been using it to keep music alive and I’ve used it to be my most unique self, and to have the opportunity to do that for Hits Radio Pride is amazing. I’m buzzing to be able to be in the final eight, it wasn’t what I expected so I’m very excited.

“I love Bury and I really think it would be great to have someone from the area flying the flag.

Voting for the competition closes on November 15 with the winner announced on November 22. To vote visit the planet radio website.
