Bolton Symphony Orchestra will be beginning their 2022 concert season with a concert entitled ‘The Queen’s Jubilee Celebration’.
The programme is an eclectic programme thematically linked to the Queen, culminating with some audience participation.
The concert will have a ‘Last Night of the Proms’ feel to it and audience members are encouraged to wear hats, bring flags, and to be in good voice for joining in the singing during the second half.
The programme will include William Walton’s Orb and Sceptre and Crown Imperial, Parry’s Jerusalem and ‘Jupiter’ from the Planets by Gustav Holst.
There will be a traditional New Year’s Waltz by Waldteufel called ‘The Skaters’ Waltz’ and excerpts from Peter Warlock’s Capriol Suite, as well as other musical selections.
A spokesman from Bolton Symphony Orchestra said: “This programme is sure to be a delight to audience members young and old and if you have never been to a classical concert before, then this one is a particularly good one for a first experience.
“You can be sure of a warm welcome from Bolton Symphony Orchestra.
“The Victoria Hall is a very large, spacious venue, and the orchestra and audience will be expected to follow all current Covid-19 regulations during the concert.
“Bolton Symphony Orchestra is most grateful to Fieldings Porter for generously sponsoring this concert.”
The concert will be at The Victoria Hall, Knowsley Street, on Saturday, February5, at 7.30pm.
Tickets, priced at £12 each and free for under 19s, are available via the link from the Bolton Symphony Orchestra website https://www.boltonsymphony.org.uk/ or by contacting the Victoria Hall box office on 01204 522569.
