Cartoonist Bill Tidy was given the honour of ‘drawing’ the first pint at the former Rose and Crown on Manchester Old Road, Bury in 1992.
The Pubmaster group had made the pub its 25th Tap and Spile alehouse. Bill Tidy presented a cartoon to the pub and also did drawings for invited guests at the official opening. He is pictured on the left with Pubmaster chairman John Brackenbury, Pat Green of the Black Sheep Brewery and Tap and Spile general manger Harry Costigan
