Ian Martin is fulfilling his childhood dream and opening Martini’s On The Rock on Thursday, March 24, a sports bar located above Frankie and Bennies in Bury town centre.

The new venue contains six snooker tables, five pool tables, two darts boards and a poker table. It also hosts a spacious lounge and terrace where customers can enjoy food and drinks.

Ian said: “Since the closure of Bury Snooker Club on Bolton Street several years ago, there has been nowhere in the town where snooker players can go to enjoy the game in a convivial environment.

“Martini’s On The Rock corrects that deficiency with a venue that can be appreciated, not just by snooker and pool enthusiasts, but by anyone who wants a stylish place to meet up and socialise.”

It will replace the former Thai restaurant above Frankie and Bennies on The Rock and will be open every day from 10.30am.

Martini’s will also have a VIP room in a separate part of the venue for up to 20 people to hire.

Ian learnt to play snooker at the age of eight with his dad and brother in the old Scala club, when he was so you that he had to stand on a chair and use a rest to cue the balls.

Alongside being the new owner of Martini’s On The Rock, Ian is a member of the World Snooker Q Tour and reached the last 16 of 264 players in the 2021 Snooker Shootout on the Eurosport channel, being introduced as the “self-proclaimed second best player in Bury”.
