A JEWELLERY shop has announced they are closing their Bury branch after 20 years in the town.

Peter Jackson Jewellers has announced they will be closing their stores in Bury and Carlisle, but the branches in Blackburn and Preston will remain open.

The company has had branches in the two towns for two decades, becoming well established in the community during that time.

On their website, a statement reads: “In that time, many of our customers have become regulars and good friends and we have become firmly established as the leading jeweller in our area.

“We have been a part of so many special occasions – engagements, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, graduations, Valentines, Mothers and Fathers days and many more. Each one unique to the people involved and each one a joy to be included in.

“We have valued thousands of precious treasures and repaired many more, serviced thousands of watches and fitted batteries in many more.

“We have employed many wonderful, hardworking and dedicated staff, some still with us and others have moved on to pastures new.

“And now, with a heavy heart, it is time for us to move on. We have loved being a part of these two wonderful communities.

“We will leave behind many happy memories and wish everyone here a happy, healthy and prosperous future.”
