A Bury-based family gin brand is in the running to win a prestigious award.

Holcombe Gin Limited's Long Dog Gin has been shortlisted in the Gin Guide Awards 2022 after experts picked it out from hundreds of gins from over 30 countries.

The owner, Kurt Titmass was inspired by his two dachshunds, Max and Paddy, and the bold yet smooth gin with its red citrus flavours is produced artisanally in Lancashire.

It is now in contention to win the "Traditional Gin - Over 42 per cent ABV" category of the awards.

The Gin Guide celebrates exceptional products, distilleries and people.

The borough business believes that the nomination is a "huge accolade" for a small brand and is "testament to the care and craftsmanship that goes into making every bottle".

Bury Times:

Kurt said: “We are so pleased to have been recognised as a high quality, premium gin from such a highly regarded organisation within the global gin industry.

"It comes as we are looking to expand into bigger premises and increase production, with interest at home as well as overseas.

“As a family-run brand, we’re just excited to see where the journey will take us and hope for Long Dog to be enjoyed by gin lovers all over the world."

Long Dog Gin is up against 13 other gins in its category and faces competition from brands based in Englans, Scotland, France, Slovenia and New Zealand.

The winner will be announced on Wednesday, May 4.
