Around £100,000 worth of cannabis ready to sell on the streets of Greater Manchester has been seized by police.

Officers raided a property in Whitefield on Saturday morning and discovered the haul, which was vaccum packed and ready to go.

The cannabis was duly seized and enquiries are ongoing to locate the people responsible for the drugs.

A spokesperson for the police said: "A warrant was executed at an address in Whitefield this morning where approximately £100,000 worth of cannabis, vacuum packed and ready to go was discovered and seized.

"For or against the debate (which will no doubt now arise again) around legalising cannabis, the police will continue to act on public led intelligence."
