Police have reissued a warning asking residents to check if their doors are secure as snaplock burgularies are on the rise.
Greater Manchester Police Bury North issued a statement suggesting now is a good time to upgrade door locks as burglaries continue to rise, particularly across Prestwich.
Officers say they are working hard to catch those responsible and are urging residents to ensure their house is not an easy target.
Officers are advising residents to upgrade to anti-snap or tamper locks to make sure homes are safe.
Greater Manchester Police have been warning residents over the past few months to check their locks to make sure burglars can't break into homes by snapping locks.
Lock snapping involves breaking a cylinder in two by applying force and exposing the internal mechanism.
