Parklife 2022 has proved to be as popular as ever this year with star studded headline acts.

Day one saw American rapper 50 Cent, Chase & Status and Jamie XX to name a few who graced the stages for more than 80,000 party-goers.

This is the first time Parklife has reopened since the pandemic with it last being on in 2019.

Bury Times:

Today will see the likes of Tyler the Creator, Megan Thee Stallion and Lewis Capaldi on the main stage with Annie Mac and Camelphat taking to the hangar and valley stages.

Across the weekend we’ve seen people donning bucket hats, seventies inspired flares and sunnies in all shapes and colours.

Yesterday saw long queues forming around the perimeters of Heaton Park however there was one man keeping the crowds entertained.

Bury Times:

Busking Joe had set up his own mini stage outside which proved very popular with the crowds waiting to enter.

Joey often plays his drums outside gigs and festivals and came to Manchester after recently playing outside Knebworth festival.

Bury Times:

Last night proved to be chaotic trying to get in and out of the city.

Taxis were charging extortionate rates for people to get home and road closures and public transport delays were also causing issues.

Doors open at midday today with the event ending at 11pm.

Transport for Greater Manchester have said: “A six-minute tram service will operate from Victoria Station to Heaton Park until 8pm on both days.

“Heaton Park Metrolink stop will be closed from 8pm on both days. To return to the city centre after the festival, you will need to use the nearby Bowker Vale stop.

“A number of road closures will be in place around the festival site impacting drivers and commercial bus services.”
