THE Heaton Park Food Festival will return for its sixth year this summer to showcase a variety of internationally-inspired and locally produced food and drink.

The festival, which was voted the UK’s number 1 non-music festival in 2019, will take place in Heaton Park, Prestwich from Saturday, August 20 to Sunday, August 21 showcasing of international cuisine, local producers, live music, entertainment and independent businesses.

The food festival will celebrate diversity and worldwide influence and will boasts more than 18 street food traders, offering a huge selection of international cuisine including fresh paella, wood-fired pizzas, modern Chinese dishes, fiery Indian curries, Japanese gyozas, Lebanese, Thai and Greek-inspired meals, plus much more.

The festival also features an Artisan Market, hosting more than 60 independent businesses and producers.

A variety of both sweet treats and savoury goods will be on offer, including cakes, brownies, cannoli and fudge, meat, breads, spices, cheese and pies.

Arts, crafts and creatives will also be joining the market, with handmade soaps, candles, original artwork, plants and much more.

Festival coordinator Hannah Dewhirst said: "We're thrilled to be joining Heaton Park’s extensive list of festivals this summer and have so much in store for a food and fun-filled weekend that all the family can enjoy.”

Building on an extensive programme of attractions, artists and musicians from around Yorkshire will take to the stage for a packed line up of soul, blues, pop, jazz and rock, alongside family entertainment, magicians and street performances.

Promising to be a firm attendee highlight, The Cookery Theatre will be hosting an incredible display of talent from local professional chefs with demonstrations taking place all weekend.

The Heaton Park Food Festival will be supporting various charities over the weekend, having already raised over £45,000 for the Mind Charity across previous festivals.
