Firefighter tackled a blaze at a house just outside Bolton town centre this afternoon, Monday.

Four fire crews were called to the property on Lever Street, just off Manchester Road, before putting out the flames by around 3.30pm.

No-one was injured during the incident.

Watch manager Andy Bolton, who was at the scene, confirmed that the site was an unoccupied property.

Bury Times:

Six fire fighters with breathing apperatus entered the building to put out the fire that was confined to the ground floor.

Manchester Road was closed in both directions due to the fire, and queueing traffic was reported between Grosvenor Street to Western Street.

The road has since been reopened with traffic returning to normal.

Bury Times:

Addressing residents on social media today, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Four of our crews are currently at the scene of a building fire.
