A group of travellers reportedly broke the car park gate of a golf club in Bury yesterday, Tuesday, to stay at the site for the night.
The group arrived at Walmersley Golf Club's base off White Carr Lane leading to bosses cancelling competitions this morning, Wednesday.
A Walmersley Golf Club spokesman said: “Unfortunately, overnight a group of travellers have broken the car park gate and have situated themselves on the car park.
“As a result, today’s competitions are cancelled, and we are asking members to stay away from the course until this situation has been resolved.”
In an update today, the club said travellers have left the site.
A spokesman added: "Following the issue we had this morning with travellers entering overnight, we are happy to say they have now moved on and it is now OK for you to come up and enjoy the course in the sunshine.
"Thanks for your understanding while the issue was being resolved."
