Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) hosted a large-scale training exercise in Bury yesterday, Tuesday.

The training tested fire fighters’ response to a major with the help of partners and volunteers, who role-played casualties to give crews a realistic scenario.

Along with its partners, the fire service tested multi-agency responses and how well groups could work together effectively.

The work helps to reinforce understanding of different roles and responsibilities during an incident and allows those involved to learn.

Bury Times:

The exercise involved responded to a chemical incident and required firefighters to practise using decontamination equipment.

A spokesperson for GMFRS said, “Yesterday we hosted a large scale training exercise at our Bury Training and Safety Centre.
