A WOMAN from Nelson has been fined a total of more than £800 after failing to have a Covid-19 test kit when arriving back in England.
On April 8, 2021, Iram Nisar, being a responsible adult, failed to possess a coronavirus testing package for a child upon arrival in England.
The 39-year-old, of Every Street, Nelson, failed to produce a testing kit when legally required upon landing at Heathrow Airport.
She didn’t turn up for her hearing at Tameside Magistrates’ Court on June 1, and the offence was found proven in her absence by the bench.
Nisar was handed a fine of £660, and told to pay £90 costs and a £60 surcharge to fund victim services, for a total amount of £816.
She has until June 29 to pay the full amount for breaching regulations 3B(2) and 6(1)(ab) and (4) of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020.
