Those who share the same surname as England footballers playing in the Women's Euros will be entitled to a free pint in four borough pubs tonight, Wednesday.

To celebrate the start of the tournament, the chain pub, Green King, will be giving pub-goers with the same surname as one of the Lionesses a free pint.

The Bury pubs participating in the promotion include:

  • Wellington (Bury)
  • Rose and Crown (Bury)
  • Knowsley (Bury)
  • Robin Hood (Tottington)

The first freebees begin tonight at 8 pm (July 6) alongside the first Women’s Euros match against Austria.

All pub-goers who share a last name with a player need to do is show their photo ID at a participating pub.

From there, they can sit back, watch the match and enjoy their free pint.

The idea behind the promotion is to encourage more British football fans to remember the women’s teams and champion the Lioness’s talent.

There are two further matches taking place this month, England v Norway on July 11 and England v Northern Ireland on 15 July.
