A woman has been arrested after being accused of wielding a knife at a McDonald's outlet in Bury this morning, Wednesday.

Police were called to the fast-food restaurant on Peel Way near Woodfield Retail Park at around 11.30am today following reports of a woman with a knife.

A 28-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and affray.

The police have confirmed no injuries were reported.

A Greater Manchester Police spokersperson said: “At around 11.30am this morning Wednesday, officers were called to reports of a woman with a knife at a premises on Peel Way, Bury.

"Officers attended the scene and a 28-year-old woman was arrested for attempted wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and affray.

"No injuries were reported.

"The woman remains in custody for questioning.”
