A woman has been released on bail after being arrested at a McDonald’s outlet in Bury yesterday morning, Wednesday.

Police were called to the American fast food chain's restaurant at Woodfield Retail Park at around 11.30am following reports of a woman with a knife.

A 28-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and affray.

This morning, Thursday, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that the woman has been released from custody and remains on bail following the incident.

On Wednesday, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “At around 11.30am this morning, Wednesday, officers were called to reports of a woman with a knife at a premises on Peel Way, Bury.

"Officers attended the scene and a 28-year-old woman was arrested for attempted wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and affray.

"No injuries were reported."
