A small supermarket has reopened after a four-week refurbishment.

Co-op on Vernon Road in Tottington relaunched on Friday, July 29, ready to serve customers once again.

The new-look store now runs on 100 per cent renewable electricity and includes customer car parking, a free ATM, a bakery and John Lewis’ click and collect service, enabling parcel collection and return.

Co-op’s store manager Qasim Kausar said: “We are delighted to have re-launched the community’s Co-op – it has a great new look and an improved back-of-shop area and storage in order to further enhance the service we deliver.

“We aim to operate at the heart of local life and are looking forward to welcoming members and customers back into their Co-op - we have worked to create the range, choice, products and added services to create a really compelling offer to serve the community, conveniently.”

A recycle unit is also available to enable the community to return its ‘soft plastics’ - including: crisp packets, bread bags, lids from ready meals and yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.

Compostable carrier bags are also available for shoppers who forget their reusable bags in order to eliminate single use plastic bags.
