St John’s Primary School pupils off the the circus, 1979
Infants from St John’s Primary School on Athlone Street, Bury, were full of excitement before they boarded a coach in February 1979 which would take them to the Belle Vue Circus in Manchester.
Perhaps you are on the photograph or recognise someone who was.
Certainly for many folk who grew up in Bury in the Sixties and Seventies the circus at Belle Vue was seen as a special treat. Did you go along? Have you any photos of a trip to the circus?
