This picture was taken in the summer of 1970 and shows the new St Mary’s Primary School in Radcliffe nearing completion.
At the end of the school holidays, 110 children were due to start at the new school which had cost £24,000 to build.
The first phase of construction work on land adjoining Belgrave Street and Lowton Street included three classrooms, toilets and a small staff room. Did you attend St Mary’s? Email yo0ur memories to john.anson@nqnw.co.uk or leave a comment
