A family fun day is taking place in Whitefield on Thursday where children can meet emergency service workers.

The free event will be taking place on Thatch Leach Lane Park from 9.30am until 1pm for children aged eight to 12.

A spokesperson from GMP, who are organising the event, said: “Come along and join in the fun with Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, and Bury School Sports Partnership playing fun games and field sports such as football, rounders, dodge ball and many more!

“Greater Manchester Police will be there teaching some self-defence skills!

“Free bike marking service for your pedal bikes will also be in attendance.”

The fun day is completely free to attend as if sure to keep little ones entertained.
