Organisers of the Saddleworth Santa Dash say there has already been a rush of entries for this year's family-fun event.

The first wave of tickets, which went on sale September 8, sold out in a week.

In all, 1,800 participants are expected to take part in the Dash which is staged from midday Saturday, December 2 in King George V park and car park in the centre of Uppermill.

Now, the second wave of tickets has been launched at £17.50 for adults and £6 for children, with the cost including registration, suit, hat, dash number and finishers medal.

Saddleworth Round Table, which puts on the event each year, has introduced a new initiative for the 2023 dash - anyone who is part of a local club or organisation needing funding for new ventures can enter a team in the dash to raise extra cash.

The charity is seeking four club partners for this year's family-fun event with the mission to encourage clubs to put forward a team of between 30 and 100 entrants.

And they promise to return at least 50 percent cent of the ticket price back to the respective club after the fash itself.

As an added bonus, a representative from each club will be invited to a special funding meeting in January or February next year where they can request further funding for a particular initiative.

Saddleworth Round Table would encourage groups to create a Gofundme page to invite sponsorship of their participants for the dash.

Anyone with a club that would like to enter a team into this year's Santa Dash is asked to contact Saddleworth Round Table via their Facebook page or speak with Andy Rothwell directly on 07882140010.
