A Bury shopping centre has won a prestigious award for customer service at a national ceremony.
Mill Gate Shopping Centre was crowned Customer Service Team of the Year at the Sceptre Awards 2023, which culminated in an awards ceremony at Hilton London Bankside.
A spokesperson for the awards explained that the Mill Gate received the highest ratings for customer communication and experience in monthly mystery shopper audits, demonstrating the success of the centre’s customer experience strategy.

The Mill Gate’s centre manager Angela Tierney said: “Customer service is of paramount importance to us, ensuring that everyone who visits Mill Gate has the best possible experience.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have won in the face of some very strong competition and it is just reward for the ongoing efforts of our fantastic team.”

The centre beat off other strong competition who made the shortlist including the Trafford Centre, St Johns Liverpool and Broughton Shopping Centre in Chester.
The black tie awards evening included a gala dinner, entertainment from a celebrity host and prize-giving.

The awards recognise best practice and people in the shopping centre industry.
The Mill Gate’s team consists of more than 30 members including centre management, customer service, cleaning, security and maintenance.
