A man was attacked in the early hours of today, Saturday, with what was thought to have been a metal bar.
Police were called to Bury New Road and High Street in Heywood at around 3.55am after reports of an assault.
It is believed that a man is his 40s was attacked with a metal bar which left him with lacerations to his leg and both of his arms, Greater Manchester Police has said.

He was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries which are described as "non-life threatening".
Three men, two of them aged and the other aged 54, were arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.
They remain in custody for questioning and enquiries are still ongoing.
