Oldham Athletic have extended their Early Bird deadline after receiving a backlash from supporters to the initial timeframe.

Latics put season tickets for the 2024/25 campaign on sale today, with a discounted offer for a swift take-up.

But while many fans anticipated and accepted there would be a price increase, there was widespread dismay that less than four weeks had been allocated for the Early Bird offer.

Latics have responded to the criticism, and reacted quickly by extending the deadline by just over a fortnight, to Sunday, May 5.

After the initial season ticket announcement, one current season ticket holder said: "The price going up is to be expected but the Early Bird deadline is far too soon and needs to be extended to May."

Another said: "A bit early considering some townsfolk will see council tax payments going out in April as well, have they thought of this?"

Posting on social media, a club spokesman said: "We'd like to thank supporters for their feedback on the season ticket sales announced today.

"To allow more people to benefit from the Early Bird prices, the deadline will now run until 5 May."
