An off-road bike was seized after concerns were raised about illegal biking across Bury this week.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police’s town centre neighbourhood team, Whitefield neighbourhood tea and B relief response tea, reported that the bike was seized in Pimhole.

They say that they seized the bike on Friday August 2 after concerns were reported to them from people across the community.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “PC03970 Kaliski listened to community concerns with regards to off road bikes in the Pimhole area.

“This resulted in the discovery of an off-road bike by him and subsequent seizure.

“Off road bikes cause issues with anti-social behaviour being a key factor.

“It also puts those at risk who are riding these bikes which are not road legal!”

They added: “We need assistance from the communities that we police and that you live in to tackle off road bikes.

“Reactive response to off road bikes isn't the most effective way to deal with them.
