A “wanted man” was arrested after police on patrol stopped a car.

Officers say that they ordered the car to be stopped after targeting vehicles around Bury on Wednesday, August 14.

They say that one of the men in the black Ford Fiesta they stopped had been wanted for failing to appear in court in connection with a serious assault.

Speaking on Wednesday, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Today officers from the town centre neighbourhood team were out proactively targeting vehicles of interest with the Whitefield neighbourhood team when they came across this black Fiesta.

“Unfortunately for the two occupants, officers were in the right place at the right time and managed to get this vehicle stopped, however, before stopping it the two occupants decided to play musical chairs and swap seats!

“Further checks were conducted and both occupants were arrested.”
