A touring brass band will be bringing its popular show to Bury next week.
Oddfellows Brass will be performing at Bury United Reformed Church on Saturday, September 28.
The public concert, organised by Bury-based friendship group South East Lancashire Oddfellows will start at 3pm.
Based in Leicestershire, the 28-piece band regularly competes at local and national levels.
The show, which will last around two hours with an interval, will cover genres such as classical, opera, stage and film, as well as traditional brass band works and compositions.
Rob Boulter, founder and former musical director and who still plays in Oddfellows Brass, describes the show as the “ideal introduction to a live brass band, and also right up the street of seasoned concert-goers”.
He added: “We love bringing our music to all corners of the UK and seeing audiences singing and dancing along.
"I’m sure the Bury crowd will be no different. We can’t wait!”
The Oddfellows is one of the UK’s oldest and largest friendly societies and has sponsored and supported the band since its formation in 1981.
Branch secretary of South East Lancashire Oddfellows, Sheila Kendall, said: “We’re very much looking forward to welcoming the band to Bury.
"Oddfellows Brass always puts on a spectacular show.
“If you can’t make it down, don’t worry. We’ve got plenty more brilliant events coming up for people to enjoy.”
Tickets cost for the concert £5 for members and £6 for non-members and are available by contacting Claire Rose on claire.rose@oddfellows.co.uk or 07564 641909.
Other upcoming events being organised by the local friendship group in Bury include a craft and coffee morning at Oddfellows House on Manchester Road on Monday, September 30, a "fun on Friday" social event at Walshaw Sports Club on Friday, October 4 and a "dine around" occasion at Number Ten Coffee Shop and Bistro in the town centre on Tuesday, October 8.
South East Lancashire Oddfellows is one of 99 branches of the Oddfellows. The Society aims to improve its members’ lives through friendship and support.
As well as social events, Oddfellows members can access a wide range of benefits, including care and welfare support and a travel club.
