A second man has been arrested after an 87-year-old man was forced into a car in Oldham before being attacked and thrown out of the vehicle on a dark road in West Yorkshire.
The terrifying incident happened at around 9pm on Sunday, September 15 in the Lee Street area of Oldham.
The victim was reportedly walking home when he was dragged into a black car and blindfolded while demands were made for his money and personal items.
He was attacked and pushed out of the car in the Rishworth area of West Yorkshire.
He eventually found help by knocking on a door at around 10.40pm.
Following the attack, a 39-year-old man was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of kidnap and has since been released on police bail pending further investigations.
And this morning, Sunday, a 24-year-old man was arrested at an address in Royton on suspicion of kidnap.
He remains in custody for questioning.
Police are appealing for information and people can submit details through a public portal system at mipp.police.uk.
Detective Inspector Emma Hulston, of Greater Manchester Police's major incident team, said: “We have arrested two men in connection with this shocking incident and our investigation team is making good progress in gathering evidence to establish the full circumstances.
“While incidents of this nature can cause alarm in the community, we do believe it was an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public.
"Specialist officers are continuing to support the victim and detectives are working around the clock determined to bring offenders to justice.
“We are continuing to appeal to the public for information, dashcam or doorbell footage that could help us solve this crime and help hold all those responsible accountable.
