A new support group which brings together women in business will launch in Bury tomorrow.
The Ladies Empowerment Circle, which has eight venues across the North West, has extended to Bury with a new group at The Pack Horse, Affetside.
Hosted by local entrepreneur Maria Worthington, the Ladies Empowerment Circle is a “supportive space for women in business, women considering starting a business, or anyone simply seeking the company of like-minded individuals.”
Maria, from Bury, said she was approached to create a Bury branch of the group after attending sessions at Regent Park Golf Club, Bolton.
“I have had two careers,” said Maria. “I was a police officer, and a business manager for Six Town Housing, Bury for 18 years. When I retired two years ago, I was at a crossroads, and I went to the Ladies Empowerment Circle for inspiration. I loved it! A month later I was invited to launch a Bury branch, and here we are!”
“'I’m thrilled to bring the Ladies Empowerment Circle to Bury,” added Maria. “This group is all about creating a space where women can connect, learn, and grow together.”
The group, founded by Sarah Hulme, offers monthly meetings where attendees discuss relevant topics, share their own experiences, and focus on empowerment and personal development. It also hosts regular charity events, learning workshops, and personalised ‘Support Circle’ sessions.
“The support the group offers is off the scale,” said Maria. “The wealth of knowledge in the group is incredible. It’s the perfect group whether you are in business, just starting out or looking for a change in direction.”
Bury’s first Ladies Empowerment Circle will take place on September 24 at 10am at The Pack House, Watling Street, Affetside. All women in Bury are invited to attend and be part of the initiative.
"Empowered women empower women," said Maria. "This is more than just a networking group; it's a movement to lift each other up, share knowledge, and build lasting connections. I'm excited to see the impact we can make together in Bury."
