AFTER starting her career in Bolton 40 years ago, Margaret Haynes returned to the town to celebrate her retirement.
Mrs Haynes, aged 57, started work for HSBC bank in Bolton town centre in 1967, at the age of 17.
She has worked in Astley Bridge, Blackburn, Rochdale and Manchester City Centre during her career, ending it with four years with the regional team in Salford.
On her last working day she came back to the HSBC branch in Victoria Square to celebrate with friends from her time at the bank.
Originally from Walkden, Mrs Haynes now lives in Little Lever with her husband Douglas.
She has two grown up children and one grandchild.
Mrs Haynes now plans to spend more time on holiday, but admits she was sad to be leaving her friends.
