The Bishop of Manchester, the Right Reverend Nigel McCulloch with Rev John Findon, the Rector of Bury
BURY Parish Church’s hugely successful £360,000 Step Inside Appeal has climaxed with the opening of a new Christian bookshop and cafe by the Bishop of Manchester.
Tuesday’s ceremony, carried out by the Right Reverend Nigel McCulloch, officially marked the appeal’s culmination and the sterling five-year efforts of fundraisers, the congregation and craftsmen.
Rector of Bury, Rev John Findon, welcomed the Bishop to the church. The bookshop and cafe have been christened The House on The Rock, given its location.
The bookshop and cafe, run separately from the church by manager Mr Nigel Rushworth, are open daily except Tuesdays and Sundays.
