I WOULD just like to add to the recent letter written by Mr J O’Connor about unadopted roads, “They can’t lose” (April 29).
A neighbour of mine asked Cllr Sean Hornby to clarify the council’s stance on issuing parking tickets in Fearnyside, Little Lever.
His response was that “local authorities have a responsibility to all public highways, even if they are unadopted, to keep the highway clear for traffic to pass through. The status of unadopted refers to the responsibility for maintenance”.
A typical politician statement, let’s get as much money as possible for doing nothing.
