I AM not usually one for writing letters, but after reading Ken Cunniff’s letter, “Saying the country is full isn’t racist” (May 9), I felt I had to.
In the letter, he states he does read the papers and doesn’t like what he reads. Not everything in the media is in fact true, Mr Cunniff.
The so-called reports of hospitals and maternity units closing down are nothing to do with immigration.
In fact, 16 per cent of nurses are from minority ethnic communities, as are 40 per cent of new dentists and 58 per cent of new doctors.
What would happen if every other country decided to kick out the Brits? A staggering 5.5 million people would be returned to our shores, far more than would leave. This includes 800,000 from Spain, most of them are pensioners.
So, let’s stop blaming immigration for everything that is wrong with this country and concentrate on the facts.
