JUST a note about a free show on at the Met which I attended.
Organised by Bury Youth Service, REPEAT D’BEATZ was a showcase of the wonderful talents of Bury’s youngsters.
Although I was there primarily to see my son “do his bit”, I thoroughly enjoyed all the acts that I saw which ranged from dancers and singers to rock bands and rappers and they were all absolutely brilliant!
There was a a great atmosphere and the place was packed and buzzin’!
It just proves that not all youngsters are up to no good and since all the acts must have done a huge amount of rehearsal, it shows a fair amount of commitment.
It’s not the first of these events I’ve been to which have been organised by Bury Youth Service.
I realise the current financial situation means cuts will be made and I bet Bury Youth Service is in the firing line but what a shame when they do such a brilliant job keeping our kids busy and off the streets and doing something worthwhile.
They’ve definitely got my support. So, as they say in the rap world, “Shout Outs” to all the youngsters who took part last night and to Bury Youth Service!
