Bury Council’s housebound library service, was approved at last Wednesday’s council meeting to be closed with the loss of three jobs. The service supplies books, books on tapes and CDs to housebound people.
My mother is in a wheelchair and is partially sighted. She receives a large quantity of books on tape and CD from that library.
Mr Bibby has said he does not intend to close any libararies this year and in the same breath is closing the housebound library, which will have a detrimental effect on my mother’s life.
