CELEBRATING a significant "hat trick" is Bury business Rowe Hankins Ltd and its sister company Cudis.

For they are enjoying local recognition of their achievements after receiving three nominations from the Made in Bury Business Awards 2014.

The event, organised by thebestofbury in conjunction with Bury Council and Tower FM, will be staged at the town’s Drill Hall, Castle Armoury next Thursday evening (Nov 20).

The Lumo illuminated consumer unit from Cudis and its CPN brand is shortlisted in the technology category for its unique solution to the problem of resetting a tripped circuit breaker in the dark.

Its in-built LED is particularly valuable to the elderly or visually impaired who would otherwise need to rely on finding a torch. This is especially true of properties where a replacement consumer unit needs to be fitted in a restricted location, such as under the stairs.

The team at Rowe Hankins, located in Parker Street, is also delighted to be nominated in the family business and manufacturing and engineering categories.

Mike Hankins, managing director of Rowe Hankins Ltd and Cudis, commented: “As a family business, we recognise that our local base is an integral part of our growth and ultimately our success. We’re incredibly proud to be from Bury, so these nominations mean a great deal to us; especially as a large team that consists of many people from the surrounding area.”

Rowe Hankins Ltd was established in 1986 as a specialist distributor and manufacturer of electro-mechanical components. Cudis was established in 2004 as a progressive manufacturer of the famous CPN range of consumer units, enclosures and circuit protection devices.
