THE Bury office of chartered accountants PM+M have become charity champions – to celebrate their first birthday.

It is also celebrating after winning the Professional, Legal & Financial category at the prestigious Made in Bury Business Awards

The team - which is headed up by Helen Clayton - has signed up as a corporate sponsor of The Met.

Helen said of the year-long deal: “Our first year in Bury has been phenomenal so we wanted to support a local organisation that is all about adding value to the community. The Met is used by many different types of people of all ages, interests and abilities. It does some amazing work so we wanted to show our support; especially as it represents our own values of quality, achievement, fun and doing the right thing.”

PM+M has also taken part in the Bury Hospice Corporate Challenge over the past five months and has raised over £2,600. The team organised various fundraisers including cake sales around the Waterfold Business Park where it’s located, entering a team into the Bury 10K, participating in the Gauntlet Games in Heaton Park, staging a sponsored eight mile walk from the Robert Peel statue in the centre of Bury up to Peel Tower on Holcombe Hill as well as a car boot sale, a book sale and arranging clothing collections.

Helen said: “Bury Hospice provides a vital service to local people in the most difficult of times so taking part in this year’s Corporate Challenge was a no brainer for us. We are passionate about the Hospice and we were delighted to take part.”

On winning the Made in Bury Business Award she added: “The whole team have put their hearts and souls into making the Bury office a success and this is testament to all their talents and efforts. Our focus moving forward is to carry on putting our clients at the centre of everything we do and ensuring we remain passionate about Bury.”
