AN architectural technician is celebrating after landing a top award.

Michael Burdaky won ‘Younger Designer of the Year’ at the annual Construction Development Alliance (CDA) Awards.

The awards evening celebrates the great work done by young people in the construction industry.

Talented Michael works for The Ratcliffe Groves Partnership architecture firm in Bury.

In addition to his main role in the business, which involves preparing planning and construction drawings, he also looks after the social media channels.

Michael, who has worked at The Ratcliffe Groves Partnership for four years. said he was delighted with the award.

He said: "I was really chuffed to win the award.

"The thing I love most about working for The Ratcliffe Groves Partnership is that if you are ready to learn, there’s always someone willing to teach you.

"I’d like to thank everyone for their support in helping me win this’.

More than 200 guests attended the ceremony, which was hosted by Charlie Dimmock at the Burnley Mechanics club.

Ratcliffe Groves Partnership director Reid Lewis, who has Chaired the CDA for nine years, organised the event along with the new chairman, Emily Millar of Hawthorne Estates.

Mr Lewis said the event had been a big success.

He said: "We’ve always tried to take a lead in the Construction Development Alliance (CDA) Awards and working closely with colleagues, many of whom have become good friends, we pulled off a fantastic event."

Formed more than 50 years ago by the current Chairman Terry Ratcliffe MBE, The Ratcliffe Groves Partnership has a strong history of supporting and developing young people through the profession.
