A RECORD-breaking year-end has been announced by a Bury plant hire specialist.

Bosses at Garic, now in its 30th year, have seen a 21 per cent rise in turnover over the past 12 months.

Their £28million showing is £4.9million up in comparison to the previous trading year.

An expansion of their operations in the Midlands and Scotland, as well as a new £1.5million state-of-the-art distribution centre in West Thurrock, has helped the Pilsworth firm to flourish.

The distribution centre is enabling the outfit to supply rental eco-products into central London, for the Thames Tideway and Defra’s fleet services emergency response teams.

Nigel Quinn, managing director, said: “Our sustained growth, not just financially but also in terms of geographical foothold and product development, clearly demonstrates that our approach and drive for business excellence is reaping dividends.

“Our strategy to achieve this included a goal to make Garic one of the top ‘go to’ hirers in the UK.

“One of the main reasons I believe we’re achieving this is the differentiator between us and the rest of the industry on quality.

“By nature, the construction sector is hard on plant and equipment so hiring out products that arrive as good as new on each and every job can be challenging.

“Our Right First Time initiative has now been operational for two years and our latest statistics show that 98.5 percent of products hired out do not break down.”

This year has also seen the launch of Garic Rail, a new industry hire division.
