THE top trios have been announced for the Bury business world's big night out.

And the competition for the Made In Bury Business Awards' for the Backing Young Bury., Customer Service and Businesswoman of the Year categories that four finalists will go head-to-head.

Judges have whittled down the shortlists for the Made in Bury Business Awards to the contenders for the November 28 event at the Longfield Suite in Prestwich.

Dawn Fidler, of The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity, Debbie Pierce, from The Bury Black Pudding Company, Lisa Bird (The UK Adviser) and Paula Henry, of Chaps Barbers, will battle it out for the businesswomen's crown.

And Henry Maclellan, from Microcare Systems, Hervey Magnall, of the Fisherman's Retreat and Steven Nanda, of Alpine Fire Engineers, are up for the Businessman of the Year title.

Some of the other hotly contested sections include Backing Young Bury, which sees Dream Big Little One, Evolve Military College, Melissa Janes Salon and Academy and Stay N Play Doggy Daycare square off.

The customer service prize will be a four-way fight between AFG LAW, Car Benefit Solutions, Munro Greenhalgh and Square Peg Associates.

Meanwhile the award for large businesses will be one from Car Benefit Solutions, ISM Waste & Recycling and The Bury Black Pudding Company.

Shortlisted firms gave presentations at Stables Country Club before judges made their determinations.

An awards spokesman said: "With the competition getting tougher every year, the judges faced an increasingly difficult task of selecting which businesses would go through as finalists in each of the 20 categories."

Further categories up for grabs cover start-up businesses, creative industries, motoring and transport, manufacturing and engineering, food and drink, health and beauty, professional services, technology, environmental impact, retailers, property and construction and leisure and tourism.
