AN accountancy practice in Bury with more than five decades of experience has been snapped up.
SKS Business Services in Richmond-upon-Thames are the new owners of Thompson Jones, based in Heap Bridge.
Specialists in several areas, from business start-ups to cloud accounting, the Bury company has at least 20 accountants on its roster and boast more than 500 clients.
The acquisition by SKS, funded by Shard Credit Partners, is one of four announced by the Surrey firm but the only takeover in the north.
Company insiders say the Thompson Jones deal allows them to "further expand geographically by acquiring a highly performing, diversified practice".
Sanjay Sarup, SKS managing director, says he has a "strong pipeline" of potential further deals in the offing.
