STAFF at a Bury-based financial planning service have been recognised in a leading industry guide.

Bosses at Mackenzie Financial Planning (MFP), which has a 13-year track record in the industry, can celebrate after their inclusion in The Times publication.

Managing director Paul Jones was listed in the top six per cent of financial planners in the country in the 2020 guide, compiled with VouchedFor.

The guide is said to distinguish financial advisers who are delivering excellent outcomes for clients.

Each of those included will have received the highest volume of positive client reviews since the start of 2019 on the promoter's ratings website.

Mr Jones said: "Financial planning can be a minefield – and with so many companies out there, it’s so important that people choose the right one for them.

"The VouchedFor Guide is, in essence, all about educating consumers on what they should expect from the financial advice they receive, how they can recognise good advice – and where they can access it.”

Less than a tenth of the UK's financial planning firms are listed in the guide, according to the promoters.

Mr Jones added: "We always aim to push ourselves beyond the minimum requirements.

"It's so important that we have the expertise and knowledge to advise clients to the best of our ability, so they receive top level service every time. At Mackenzie 'good enough' isn’t an option.

"We strive to be the best of the best at everything we do – it’s embedded in our culture - and working towards the standard was a natural progression for us.”

The company is one of the few chartered firms in the Greater Bury area, specialising in wealth planning and management to "facilitate a high standard of lifestyle".
