RESIDENTS got a shock this morning when they awoke to find a sinkhole in the street.
It appeared in Chapelfield, Radcliffe, overnight and a car even got stuck in it at one point before its owner got it free.
The hole is believed to have been caused by a sewage leak and gas distribution company Cadent is currently on the scene checking for a gas leak.
The police have also been called to make sure the scene is safe.
One resident said: "It appeared overnight. My boyfriend's car got stuck in it and it and it was a bit of a nightmare to get out."
