TOM Youngs, Alan Fettis, Tom Kennedy, John Fitzgerald, Matthew Tipton and Damien Quigley have been told they will not have their contract renewed after the Shakers announced their retained list.

Chris Brass has also been released, pending a fitness test on the groin injury which kept him out of the last seven games of the season.

Ten players have been offered new deals, including Colin Woodthorpe, Marc Pugh, Nicky Adams, David Buchanan, Andy Warrington, Andy Parrish, Aaron Grundy, Jordan Stepien, Dale Stephens and Lee Peatfield.

Chris Casper met with individual members of his squad yesterday to set out his plans for next season.

He has pledged to give next season's squad a more experienced look, and his finances could be boosted if David Nugent leaves Preston, as expected.

Preston boss Paul Simpson has said the England international "will not go on the cheap," news which will come as music to the Shakers' ears as they have a 20 per cent sell-on fee.
