FOUR Bury ABC fighters were in winning form last weekend as the club celebrated more success.
First up on Friday night at Bolton’s Holiday Inn, 32-year-old Adam Miles scored a unanimous points victory over Halliwell ABC’s Lee Potts at 75kg.
And that was just a starter with three youngsters also victorious two days later at the Girls and Boys Club Championships quarter-finals at Croxteth Leisure Centre in Liverpool.
Kian Winstanley, aged 15, was the first through to the last four in the 63kg Class A section when he scored a split decision against Leon Harris of Wearmouth Boxing Academy.
Sixteen-year-old Abdul Khan also went through after winning a splt decision against highly-rated England boxer Blaine Lambert, of Laister Dyke, at Class B 52-54kg level.
Ali-Akbar Javid, also aged 16, then had a unanimous points win against Cameron Vuong of the Empire Boxing Academy at Class B 63kg to make it a hat-trick of semi-finalists for coach Mick Jelley who said all fighters were a credit to the club.
They all now progress to Saturday’s next stage in Solihull, West Midlands.
